Here is one from my personal collection, that is an exquisite glittering violet gem of a dress! Delicate lurex knit, made in Ireland by Holly Parker of Limerick for Maison Posh of Locust Valley NY - a high end designer boutique that specialised in "sublime elegance" in the late 1970s.
This dress lives up to the boutique's reputation! With its unique combination of traditional knitwear style, and space age metallic glamour, it also seems to foreshadow the postmodern and retro looks of the 1990s. I've never seen anything like it in real life or in researching. A statement piece that deserves to be worn and worshipped.
The knit is loose weave and semi-sheer, as you can see in the photos. Best worn with a slip - try silver or pink for even more lustre. Very stretchy, so fits UK sizes 8 (as on mannequin) to 14 - ideal for 12. Measures 36 chest when "resting". Length from shoulder to hem is 46 inches.
Condition is very good overall. Some unruly metallic threads here and there, but no visible pulls or holes or other flaws.
