Truly electric neon colour kaftan! Imagine yourself swanning about like Princess Margaret in this one! It's actually American, by Butterfield 8 - the clothing label not the novel or film starring Elizabeth Taylor - but this has drama in equal measure. It's more neon / day-glo than the pictures can capture, and glows under UV light.
Sides are stitched creating a batwing flutter effect. Tie at the neckline. Otherwise it's all about the print!
Condition is good overall. There are some pulls in the fabric - 2 lines down the back near the right side seam, but no holes or ladders. Condition reflected in price.
Fabric is delicate - it's synthetic slinky stuff - "Antron" - a type of nylon introduced by Dupont in 1960, and updated to be Antron III in 1970. This one is the earlier version, and the piece is likely later 1960s.
