An utterly superb 1950s shirtwaister! Floral and geometric print in signature midcentury graphic style and colour palette of slate blue-grey with black and sulphur yellow. the cotton is crisp and has a slight sheen and lots of body. The construction is perfect, with a relaxed fit bodice, raglan sleeves, and full pleated skirt. Self fabric belt and jumbo buttons. It is in excellent condition (I almost mistook it for a modern reproduction at first!), and the only flaw is a missing grommet on the smallest belt hole (see in last photo). Skirt section has a gauze lining / petticoat. Photos were taken with a slightly fuller petticoat underneath (not included).
If you are looking for a 1950s dress that ticks all of the style boxes and that will make a statement at retro dressing events then you are in luck. This is also in a good modern size, and is very comfortable to wear for all seasons.
